You were lost, and never seen again
You presence was welcomed far and through
You were always there, in rest and in motion
You meows made the quietest noise,
We could almost never tell you were there.
But we always knew, we always saw you
You watched over us every night, everyday
Your soul will never be thrown away.
I will always keep you close inside,
Close to my heart,
And never forgotten.
We are uncertain where you went,
Or if you are planning to come back,
All we know is we assumed the worse
But your memory, your every being
It will always be remembered.

I always cherished you,
The black cat always crossing my path
The one I grew to trust, and love
The one that spent his life with me
And I enjoyed every moment;
I hope you did too.
I have a feeling you're still out there,
Still wanting to be found.
You've been moved into a colder world,
One of more cruel laws and lives.
I always hope and pray,
But will you ever come back?

An elegy for my 9 year old cat, Tommy. We are uncertain of his death, but the last time he showed up at home was 5+ months ago (Since late August 2012). No one has seem him around, there has been no sign of him still alive; and even though people are trying to lift my hopes, I assume the worst, and so does my family.
Tommy was very close to all of us; he wasn't the friendliest kitty, but he got around. He made his presence known, and he was a pleasure to have.
We will all miss him dearly; and his loss will grow heavy on our souls.
